Emily Mainprize

Spousal Abuse & Domestic Violence (Physical & Mental)

Hi, I'm Emily Mainprize. I've experienced emotional abuse, gaslighting, and narcissistic abuse in my life journey. My ex-husband cheated on me with my best friend, which was an incredibly challenging time. Simultaneously, I was also taking care of my dying father. Despite all the hardships, I found the strength to separate from my husband, take control of my life, and embark on a new chapter. I even made the bold move of leaving the town I had called home for my entire life. Along this transformative path, I managed to shed over 120 pounds and continue to grow, not just in terms of my physical well-being but also in establishing myself and nurturing meaningful relationships. My story is one of resilience, self-discovery, and the pursuit of a brighter future

Michele Anne Lopaschuk

Spousal Abuse & Domestic Violence (Physical & Mental)

Michele has first-hand knowledge when it comes to being bullied and abused. I  wrote a chapter of my life story in “Fuck Fear Living a Courageous Life.”

For over 50 years, I was bullied and abused. It started when I was around six when my younger sibling teased me. My parents were more verbally abusive, and I had some physical abuse from my father.
In school, I was bullied because kids found out I was adopted.

From then on, I found myself in abusive relationships.

Thirty-one years ago, I left a very abusive relationship to start my new life. I was mentally, physically, emotionally and sexually abused for about ten years.

In 1993, I attended the Barbara Schlifer Clinic for a 12-week workshop for women who suffered abuse.
In 1994, Children’s Aid was involved. The most challenging decision I had to make was to give my kids up to Children’s Aid.
1999: 18 years ago, I started working at CIBC bank processing utility bills for the entire portfolio of financial institution buildings across Canada. I took two full-time positions into a half position, and 6 months later, I moved to the operations center, taking calls and processing invoices.
2002; I worked as a MAC Project Manager (Moves, Adds & Changes in the bank’s Corporate Office) my way throughout the years, went to Ryerson University and graduated in 2006 with a Certificate in Facility Management and 2008 to date, I have a career as a Facility Manager.
2010; Certified Life Coach
2012 – 2016: I volunteered at the Women’s Centre of York Region with the Making Changes Program.
In 2013, I took a 12-week Business course at the WCYR, and my father passed away.
2014; I became the guardian of my mom
2014; married for the 2nd time
2015; Certified Life Skills Coach – I was encouraged to take this course by Gail Robertson
2016; Certified in Indian Head Massage, Reflexology and Reiki.
2017; left my husband July 1st, built The Sacred Feather Store (opened July 22nd) in Stouffville with my eldest son and his wife, and received Certification in Hot Stone Massage and Chair Massage. I now facilitate my workshops at the store.
2017; On September 21st became sober. In 2017, my son walked out of business. As a result, I lost the business.

On Jan 18th, 2018, I submitted my resignation. For the past eight years, I held a Facility Manager position at one of North America's largest real estate, workplace solutions, facility, project management, and professional service companies. The bullying that I experienced from two leaders was not acceptable anymore. I decided I needed to make changes for myself quickly and asked the universe for help as I always have. One leader gave me the support and strength to confidently move on from a world I no longer fit into.

Today, my two adult sons, who have schizophrenia, live with me.

I proudly own Crazy Horse Deliveries and Love to Help Others. I can do anything I want and get whatever I want. I can get through whatever challenge or change happens in my life. I always will remember where I came from.
I have learned to ask for what I need and to speak my mind as required. I learned to listen to myself and that my needs are more important. My attitude is that I will no longer accept anything less than what I deserve. I have become more confident and very accepting of who I am and who I have become. My mental health and happiness is essential to me. I only surround myself with like-minded individuals and will not hang around with those who will try to take me down. I continue to take down challenges, and nothing or anyone will stop me from doing what I want. I love my time for me. I am a powerful woman, and my mission in life is to continue to help others.
